Decaled faces on models turn metallic

For some odd reason on some models my friend had made that I rigged, the face decals all became metallic inside of any place created.

I use Future as the lighting, but changing it doesn’t remove the metallic look of the decals. Plus, months or literal days before I reopened studio this was never an issue. I’ve never seen something like this on the forum either?

I don’t have any ideas on why this would happen?? I’ve made sure to see if their normals are fine + flipped correctly as in most cases that’s the problem but seems like the less likely issue.

  • gen dont want to double post, (building support + art) but if you had ideas on how this occurred it would be highly appreciated!

Are you using surface appearances or something?? This is odd, try reporting it as a bug maybe. Or trying other faces to see if it’s with your image or not.

Thanks for replying! It makes sense with surface appearance being the main issue. Since, with some NPCS with the same bases it does it sometimes??? I’ll probably just do a bug report and actually check the uv maps for the heads again.

Hmm… it could be the material of the head? Keep it at plastic if you haven’t already. If that’s not the case then maybe it could be the decal?? This is an odd issue. Maybe just report it as a bug.

does it have the same effect with any texture? or just the ones you made?

(If you are using surface appearance try setting the metallic map to either solid White or Black (I forget which one makes it metal)
