Decals & certain Textures completely black

After the new studio update all decals & most textures are now black in future lighting


If I switch it to ShadowMap however,

Is there any fix for this? I don’t wanna switch my game to ShadowMap.

What are your lighting settings, like Ambient or OutdoorAmbient?
I have studio open right now and switched between Future and ShadowMap, with my Ambient, Brightness, or OutdoorAmbient settings changed to the max values either way and other than darker appearance of my decals they aren’t turning full black.
Have you tried restarting Studio to see if it reoccurs?

Do you use any forcefield material in your game? I kinda hijacked this bug report thread to report and issue I found with transparent parts turning dark with a recent client/studio update:

If you get rid of ALL of the forcefield parts in your game the problem goes away. (Or if you switch to shadowmap from future)

Removing all forcefield parts does not seem to fix the problem.

Huh. It’s weird to be fair. If I change the part that the decal/texture is on, the decal becomes bright again.

Yeah, I don’t know then, seems recent updates are doing lots of strange things visually.

The issue has been fixed. Not sure what fixed it though.
