Deleting a part before passing warning dialog when converting to package crashes Studio

When you’re converting a part to a package, if it is deleted while you’re looking at the warning dialog shown in the video before you get to the asset upload window, Studio will crash when you attempt to upload the asset.

To reproduce:

  • Insert a part
  • Run wait(5) workspace.Part:Destroy() in the command bar
  • Right click on the part in the Explorer and choose Convert to Package
  • Wait for the part to be deleted before proceeding past the warning dialog
  • Attempt to upload the part

I am in the process of checking over bug reports and following up on some bugs that haven’t received any activity in a while.
Is this issue still occurring or can you confirm that this bug has been resolved? We are having a hard time reproducing this issue.

It still occurs, I recommend removing “We are having a hard time reproducing this issue.” from this canned response since that is very likely not the case here.

Update, The engineers have unformed me that a fix for this is coming. As always i will pass on more info when i get it,
