What else are you going to add later on?

We are going to add several things, such as:

  • Roblox Experience Payment Portal
  • Virtual Live Streaming Throttle Adjustment
  • Live Roblox Server-Side Back-Up Script
  • Automatic FPS Tracking and Live Performance Insights

Are you guys planning to work on 7 day free trials? Just so the person can experience if they need it or not?

No, you will pay for however long you need it for. No trial. I could be wrong by this is how we’re planning it

That’s probably a good idea, people will try and keep getting it using alt accounts getting it free forever.

Due to the ability to exploit a free trial, it most likely won’t be an option.

Highly understandable, lots of people do their best to get around free trials.

I was just playing the StreamX test game and very nice frame rates I’m getting.

This is a smart idea, removing the streaming load from the Roblox server and putting it on a separate server. Keeps streaming impact separate from gameplay processing.

That said however I would not be comfortable with letting a huge chunk of my game go through a third party service. This is something Roblox should definitely consider offering on platform. A lot of Roblox experiences need to serve static maps, and I’m sure there’s ways to optimize specifically for that if you have dedicated servers handling nothing but this.

With the security concerns, the files are being encrypted and there’s no order to them really, so it’s near impossible for us to pull out parts from games. The connection is also proxied.

I haven’t looked through the python code much but that’s about how it works from what I saw when I had a server up for it.

Lets just say that someone paid for 1 month of the StreamX service, and they continue to use it the next month without paying for it, are you guys able to disable the API key from accessing your servers?

Yes, the API key will become disabled until it is reactivated.

Its automatically invalidated within about 3 minutes or so after the expiration time.
