I can see attack is the best form of defense, I’m just ignoring this wasteful thread and your nonsense, And actually, I do have a problem with ruining my games for others by giving free admin, and did not give it when I was on front page.
Maybe that’s why you’re not front page now.
Maybe so. But I’d rather not be front page than be known for a load of crap.
“known for a load of crap”
I am known for my high quality theme parks, I don’t believe thats a load of crap.
I don’t blame everyone hating on Star here. It’s a bit of a lame way to get some cash. That and it suddenly jumped to Top Rated yesterday with nearly 100 thumbs ups and no negative votes.
I don’t want to accuse Star but he’s the one that knows about bottling ratings for a game. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what happened considering the perfect 100% ratings until it hit the Games page.
Are we seriously, SERIOUSLY going to keep this going? I thought RBXdev was supposed to be a mature forum where we can speak about Roblox. All I have seen, has been people calling each other out, being rude, and cursing at each other. This is really disgusting me.
But the thing is, ROBLOX users DO want quality games. It’s just that the younger audience wants SIMPLICITY in the games they play.
For example, let’s start with an obstacle course. Just a simple, basic obstacle course. Obviously, ROBLOX users love obstacle courses, especially themed ones. But the thing is, this obstacle course doesn’t have to be filled with lava bricks that kill you when you touch them, they could immediately teleport you back to the last checkpoint. It could have a simplistic, well-functioning interface for checking your current obstacle, checkpoint, etc. The building doesn’t have to be mediocre, it can have beautiful aesthetics and look like a respectable, quality game - but as long as you keep it simple and appealing, I can guarantee young ROBLOX users wouldn’t pass it up just because its “higher quality.”
ROBLOX users don’t play low-quality games because they’re low-quality, they play them because they think it’s fun. So you could make a simple, high-quality game and I’m sure people would still play it. It’s up to you - do you want a popular low-quality game besmirching your reputation in the developer community, or do you want to make a popular high-quality game that will give people better opinions about you as a developer? It’s your choice.
As for this thread it’s really kind of just spiraling downwards into somewhat childish slander from both parties. It should probably locked if this is to continue…
What I don’t understand is if I want to make an obstacle course, why can’t I make it how I want to make it? Is there a book of standards I must follow for you to accept it? I am going to have simple games, that the younger audience of Roblox will enjoy. I will also have Theme Parks, and showcases for other people to enjoy. I am also starting development on Titanfall, a game where you developers will enjoy. I am trying to reach more audiences, than just the developers, which is what most of you seem to be missing out on. You question why no one visits your games, its because no one wants to learn controls, etc. They want to jump right in, and have a challenge.
I don’t think it’s childish what everyone here is saying. Everything that has been brought up is a decent argument and you’re defending yourself by calling everyone here “immature” and “childish”. If you can’t take some blunt criticism, then I’m afraid you might be the one acting like a child. Especially if it’s true that you botted some ratings for this place, along with other claims here that you’re trying to defend.
In all seriousness, you guys want to keep this going go ahead. I will no longer go back to back in a public forum. You have an issue with me, please message me personally.
1. Never voted up this place, it happened on its own that was stated very early on in this topic.
2. I take your criticism. You have Obbys, whats the difference between me and you? Most of your visits are obbys. Seriously.
You can claim you never botted the votes, but there’s no such thing as a perfect 100% rating(over 100 ups and no downvotes? Haha), and then tanking in ratings. ESPECIALLY on obstacles courses. You can keep telling us the same thing but you won’t change our suspicions. Especially with you talking to me in Skype about botting for other users, and probably even yourself. It’s a dead giveaway.
Also, the difference between my obby and yours is that mine is an original. I created over 30 obstacle “ideas” back in 2008 and I even see a lot of them in “your” obstacle course. I actually changed how obstacle courses looked, while you did absolutely nothing to the genre. It’s not even your build.
EVEN if the botting didn’t happen, making that place is a pretty pathetic thing to do.
Feel free to keep defending yourself, however I’m not changing my reasonable suspicions and opinions. I’m out of this thread.

Who got 100 thumbs up and no downvotes? ._.
I told you how I’m learning to do it, and we were talking about it trying it on your game.
BUT you said it wasn’t right to do, and you’d rather not cheat.
The obby was given to me, cause it was taken down on Monkrys profile. I don’t need to defend myself, because I truly don’t care. Im sure people had their suspicions about your 500 thumbs up and no downvotes. Lets not point fingers. Suspect all you want.
Quite frankly, I wouldn’t disrespect somebody on here if they made a “crappy” front page game. In fact, I would applaud them. You see, creating these “crap” games is a fantastic marketing move. I mean, are they as hard to make as the games that some people on here are making? Of course not. But they do get you money, and quite frankly I see nothing wrong with trying to get in with that.
Now I know that I’ve stopped myself from creating “crappy” front pagers in fear of critisism, so I applaud anyone who has the guts to do so.
Edit: I just noticed the second page, so sorry of that’s out of context. I have to pay attention to class now

Not sure where you got that ratio from. I’ve had a consistent amount of downvotes to up votes. Floating anywhere between a 90% to a 95% ratio. Plus you heard star, I immediately turned down the idea of botting votes and I’ve been against it this entire thread.
A big difference too is that my game advertises exactly what it is, without any thumbnails uploaded. No doubt I’ll get a higher ratio.

I’m going to bypass the rest of the thread because it’s going nowhere, but this is a really good post. Castle in the Sky is a great example of this, I think the person who made it might be in the RBX Dev. It’s still an obby, but with thought put into it and some sort of quality.
