This thread is about information regarding the release of Destination: Benford’s Remastered update. This will help you understand how to play.
Release Dates and Other System Supports
Destination: Benford Remastered was released on 30th June 2019. The game is currently only optimised for PC and Tablet, but Xbox One support will be out in the near future
The game is free, but there are gamepasses and group trains which the users may purchase and drive.
What is Destination: Benford Remastered
Destination: Benford Remastered is a massive update for Destination: Benford, which is a UK Railway Simulation game where players can drive different trains in a fictional map to create their own story of the British Railway.
A selection of trains are provided, Passenger and Freight, as well as gamepass trains which can be purchased which will provide access for the user to drive the train that they have purchased.
Gamepasses
Class 37 Coal - 35 R$ - This allows users to drive a DP Cargo Class 37 hauling coal wagons.
Class 66 Nuclear Flask - 15 R$ - This allows users to drive a Class 66 hauling another Class 66 and 2 Nuclear Flasks.
How to Play
Main Menu
This is what the main menu looks like after loading.
There a number of buttons. There is also a text box which shows the latest updates. The camera spins and the intro music plays.
If you press Drive, you’ll be taken to this screen where you can select a number of different companies (I had to scribble out an option lol).
For example, if we pressed Regional we will be taken to this page, where will can press a train and then spawn it into a depot.
If we press the Store button, we can navigate to the in game store where we can purchase gamepasses.
If we press the How to Drive page, we’ll get to a page showing us the controls for driving, although this may be moved onto the driving GUI at some point in the near future.
Spawning
We have pressed spawn, and we have spawned in a building at “Spawn Way”.
In our inventory, we have a Regional Smartcard and a Newspaper in which we can scan our smart card at ticket validators.
We have a nice little Side Menu GUI, which gives us buttons to do certain things.
The Toggle button will move the GUI into the side. We can untoggle it as well.
The menu button brings us to this page, where we can teleport to different stations, view our profile, go back to the main menu if we wish to drive or go to Settings.
The Tools button will bring up to this page, where we have a couple of animations and a role where we can select what job we can do.
For example, dispatching gives me a Whistle, Dispatch Baton and a Green Overhead GUI.
Train Operating Companies
Regional - operates Benford - Benford circular loop (including Metro Arch branch line.) Main passenger company on DB.
DP Cargo: The Freight Train TOC. Red liveried trains and they haul any sort of freight
