Opening the dev console on Xbox acts as an overlay that cannot be used. It goes on top of all other UI’s and the selection button doesn’t help. The console gets stuck on your screen, and there is no way to get it off.
It happens every time you open the dev console on Xbox.
This has been a problem since the new dev console was released. The old one worked fine, but this one has no functionality but to permanently cover your screen on Xbox.
We are fixing this so you will be able to use the Developer Console with a gamepad.
Is there any way to get the old one back on console for the time being until the current one is functional?
You can currently type /oldconsole into chat to bring it up.
There’s no chat on Xbox.

This is still an existing bug today, and it should be fixed. Sorry for necroposting, but I saw this thread and I realised it still does not work to this day.
