Hello, I apologize about this being in the wrong category. I was unable to find any other category which was suitable.
I am currently on course to release a game which I am confident that it will produce enough revenue to dev-ex. However, I am scared that I possibly will not be eligible for it. This is because I have a sibling who lives in the same place as I do, shares the same network, and does things on the platform which violates the TOS (exploiting) and would therefore render them ineligible for dev-ex.
Therefore, I was wondering, to what extent does dev-ex ineligibility apply? Is it for only for the offending account? For all accounts linked to which are linked to an email that is linked to an offending account? For all accounts created/used in a network where an offense has took place?
Only your account. Possibly the account linked to the same email, but on the same network I’m 99% sure that you’ll be able to dev-ex. I don’t think roblox cares about other accounts, as these are not owned by you.
I think the best thing to do would be to report your sibling’s account to Roblox because you’re technically in the wrong too if you know that someone is going against TOS but keep quiet about it. Roblox could possibly ban your account too if they ever find out about your sibling’s account.
I know it may be hard to report your sibling for something wrong that they may have done but you have to overcome that possible guilt(if you have it) and do the right thing.
That would make things look a lot worse, you’re also not taking into consideration the fact that there is a chance that Roblox doesn’t know about the exploiting, and all that would be doing to UntitledProtocol is bring negative attention.
I’d just say to encourage him to NOT exploit, but I’m pretty sure you will still be able to DevEx despite your sibling violating the Terms of Service.
I get where you’re coming from, however, should he take the risk and decide to ignore the fact that his sibling is violating TOS. Isn’t that dishonest? Won’t that make you a culprit too?
When you do that, isn’t that the same as violating TOS? There are a bunch of cases in real life where someone also gets punished for not telling what you know because you care for that person. While that is quite a loyal thing to do, it doesn’t make it right.
I don’t think you’ll be declined. But… Roblox staff has heard the sibling excuse millions of times.
I doubt that they will check your IP or anything like that but my understanding is that they check your roblox chats and past warning/bans… I think you’re gonna be fine.
You will be fine. There’s people out there that have their main account ineligible for DevEx and they just make an alt account and transfer all the Robux over (has to be a group game ofc), and then they can DevEx.
There is literally no way to get proof unless they ssed his sibling but transfering all of the robux to a new account on a new ip sounds like a good plan i guess
Ok, let me say something that actually makes no sense what you just said but you can’t transfer robux onto new accounts unless both accounts have premium (so they can trade) and u can’t put it on a new IP unless u are on a different wifi or a different pc (I forgot which one it is)
