As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to look at a fellow developer’s portfolio of works as many now publish their games with groups as opposed to on their profile.
If Roblox is able to address your issue, how would it improve your game and/or your development experience? Please be as specific as possible. If I were able to more easily access a developer’s portfolio of games they’ve worked on, I could get a better sense of what their strengths are and what games they’ve worked on in the past when deciding to work with someone. It would also help me present all the games I’ve worked on (I have about 3-4 cool games spread across different groups that aren’t easily found from my profile) when others are considering working with me. Finally it would make the whole developer profile set up a lot cleaner as more and more top developers find themselves working in teams.
Over my time on roblox 90% of my work has been commissioned buildings for other people’s projects. This setup was great for me but as you stated it is very hard to build a visible portfolio when nothing is on your profile.
The creation of a “credits tab” on profiles and a game’s information page would greatly improve the situation for developers who work on commission jobs. One were the game owner could fill in the credits page and it could show on the developers profile under the creations tab games they were credited in.
As the roblox front page is taken over more and more by development groups it only makes sense for their be someway to show who worked on what more clearly. Our profile is all people see of us, it should reflect our work. Finding and hiring new developers for teams would be much easier with the implementation of a similar feature.
Oh please be something the one credited has to accept. I wouldn’t want random things I didn’t help with to be on my profile, or things I don’t feel represent me.
Full support, as long as both the user and the owner of the game confirm they want the credit displayed and can remove it at any time.
The user should also be able to organize the credit tab, so they can put the more important portfolios to show up first.
Support! Perhaps the owner of the game/the developer could add some sort of small description of what the dev is credited for in the game in the same confirmation process (most likely only a short sentence or two)?
