When submitting a Roblox DevEx request, Roblox only provides 2 name fields (first and last name). They also don’t allow accented characters in names. However, when registering for the payout at Tipalti, you are able to fill in 3 name fields (first, middle and last name) as well as input accented characters. How should these two forms be filled in if a person has a middle name(s) and accented character(s) in their name, as is very common internationally?
Another thing that makes this even more complicated is how Roblox says this: “It is extremely important that the name used on your DevEx request matches the name listed on your DevEx portal account and tax form (W8 or W9). Any discrepancies between your DevEx request and Tipalti portal may result in processing delays or the rejection of your DevEx request.”.
But Tipalti says this: “Please enter name as it appears in bank statements. Mistakes can lead to payment rejections”.
Does anyone know how these are filled in cases where a person has a middle name(s) and accented character(s) in their name?
If they have more than 1 middle name, you would put the full middle name in the field whenever asked, being:
First Name: Thomas
Middle Name: Cheeseburger Spaghetti
Last Name: Crow
While if it only just requests your first & last name only,
First Name: Thomas
Last Name: Crow
As for the accented characters, I’m sure they’re disabled for a reason so it would probably be fine to implement the legal name via text but I would still fill out a Support form though; as iffy as it sounds, it’s better to be certain rather than questioning yourself
