Devlog #6 | Paint Punks

You can find the previous devlog here!

Paint Punks is a character-based first-person shooter inspired by games such as Bad Business, Mad Paintball, Overwatch and Q-Clash. The game has a roster of characters, each with unique looks, stats and abilities.

The game has temporarily been made public to collect more feedback. If you want to check it out, make sure to invite some friends to play against!

In this devlog I want to share with you some of the maps I have been working on and how they fit into the game’s narrative. Paint Punks takes place on a small island that got turned into a paintball resort after its dwindling population migrated to the mainland due to globalization offering a better way of life there.

Maps

Snowy Chalets

This map takes place in a small village higher up in the island’s mountains. Old houses were renovated and additional shacks were built to turn this place into a paintball arena.

Botany Lab

This facility on the coast of the island used to be a place where the island’s unique flora got researched. It was built on the coast to make import and export as convenient as possible. Fortunately it also made for a great paintball map after some small modifications.

Castle Grounds

This map was built from the ground up in one of the island’s coves. Trees were chopped down and turned into cover. Limestone from a nearby area was used to craft bricks for the castle’s walls.

Other additions

Characters

Two new characters were added, Tess & Clint, upping the total to 11 out of 15 planned characters.
