[DEVLOG] Roblox's first Multiplayer Tycoon!

This is a game that i’m working on, and its Roblox’s first Server Tycoon. If you don’t know what that is, it’s like a tycoon but like everybody in the server works together in like one big tycoon. Here’s the game link if you wanna play it: [alpha] server tycoon - Roblox
Here’s what the game has so far:

  • A working tycoon where you can buy buttons
  • Working droppers that like drop stuff
  • Replayability
  • A working cool elevator that I made cuz I was bored.

Overall, how would you rate this game so far? (you gotta play it first lol)

I have grown tired of tycoons and simulators for a long time, Even having a twist wouldn’t work

I logged in. I saw a classic tycoon with nothing special. I logged out.

In my opinion the thought of making it “server-owned” won’t really change that it’s kinda boring. Also, the text is black and kinda hard to see. And the thing that would make me rate it a one is the fact that progress is lost once you leave??? WHY? Like I joined and it was all zero (no money etc) so I assumed I might be the first player, but then rejoined and everything was reset?! How’s that server-owned if you do not save the progress at all? Or does it reset on purpose?

Nice idea, if done right the game might appeal to some people.

But my sympathy for tycoons got the better of me, now I have to say.

Game’s plain, it’s no fun if it’s just a simple tycoon with more players building it.

Game really needs more twists to it, not just the multiplayer aspect.

I’ve got a few suggestions that remain after the edit.

  1. I suggest having a shared currency system for all players in a server, so they don’t have different amounts of cash to spend individually.

  2. Having teamwork massively determine tycoon growth. For this one, it’s much rather a thing to have some extra stuff to do and work with other players as a team to help the tycoon out, adding something unique and a twist to it.

  3. Adding an extra twist to every floor so it’s not so simple and keeps some sort of unique twist rather than being a simple tycoon run by everybody.

Game’s got potential, good luck with it. And by any chance if you see this edited post, what are you planning to do with the gem system you’ve created? I’m intrigued what unique thing will you add with it.

Isn’t this just a co-op tycoon but… More? Actually, part of the fun of tycoons was fighting other players (and a bit of bullying players with nothing… just a tad bit…). Wouldn’t this get removed?

Also, “Server Tycoon” is kind of misleading to me. Wouldn’t “Multiplayer Tycoon” make more sense?

DEVLOG #1!!!

  • Changed the name to ‘multiplayer tycoon’ (idea from @OryTheGamer )
  • made another currency, its called gems, and it saves from server to server, and you get 1 per 30 seconds
  • patched some bugs and stuff
  • changed the baseplate size from 1000, 16, 1000 to 500, 16, 500 (basically making it smaller)
  • let me know if u want something to be added or got a idea or just have feedback, new devlog coming soon

The game isn’t fun. It’s a tycoon without the fun.

I think making the tycoon that is visually different and is rewarding (premanent currency), and maybe make the multiplayer aspect optional.
