Difference between a easing style and easing direction?

Alright, so I just began learning animations, and I was wondering, what’s the difference between a easing direction and a easing style?

This should help:

(2025 Edit for everyone searching this and clicking the link, and sorry for the bump)

The difference of style and direction is that:

  • Style determines the shape of the wave being used

  • Direction determines the direction of the shape, In is forwards, Out is backwards, and InOut is a mix of the 2.

(above image may be inverted but it gets the point across.)

Hmm, I don’t really get it. It only shows all the easing styles, not the difference between a easing style and easing direction.
