Different resolution monitors can result in windows' top bars being off-screen

I have two monitors: one 1440p, one 1080p, this is how my monitors windows are arranged:

There is a case where placing a window near the top will result in the top bar being off-screen after restarting Studio, for example, opening the script analysis window makes the window go past the bounds of my 1080p monitor:

Repro steps:

  1. Place your window near the top of the 1080p monitor (note how it’s still within the monitor’s boundary):
  2. Restart Studio a few times, gradually the window will drift upwards:

Monitor 1 resolution: 2560x1440 @ 125% scale
Monitor 2 resolution: 1920x1080 @ 100% scale

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
32.0 GB DDR5 @ 5200MHz

Expected behavior

Ideally the window would keep its position but simply clamping the window’s position to be within my monitor’s boundary is also acceptable.

Just wanted to add that this issue affects the next gen studio as well

I’m here to bump this. This has been a longstanding issue with studios windows. Being able to open a menu or right click on windows which have drifted off screen to reset their position would save so much annoyance. There’s no reason this behavior should still exist.

Reinstalling studio every time I lose a window to the vertical drift is not a viable solution.

i want my control+shift+f back

I think if you put your cursor on the edge of the window and resize/double click, it should restore the top bar but it doesn’t always work. Hope it gets fixed
