Different types of rbx characters help

read until end

Two questions.

  1. What is the difference between R6 and R15

  2. Is it true their is a type of character called R36 or something?
I have heard that their is another type of character, besides R6 and R15, but I don’t know the exact number that comes after the “R”. I think it’s R36.

Please answer these questions, I have been wondering about it for ages.

All attempts to answer accurately and clearly appreciated.

Thanks!

Also, PLEASE leave categoric criticism out of your posts. I don’t really know whether (but hope that) this is the correct category.

in R6 there’s 6 parts.

in R15 there’s 15 parts.

R15 is more detailed.

I haven’t heard anything about the R36.

No, R36 is not a standard Roblox RigType and does not exist natively. R6 and R15 are currently the only supported rig types.

Put simply, the number after the R in R6 and R15 refers to the amount of body parts/joints included in a character model. R6 rigs only include 6 body parts and R15 rigs include 15 body parts. Despite this difference, both include some common features. This includes the HumanoidRootPart and Head parts which are standard for all character models.

If you’d like to see the differences between these different rig types, you can insert both of them into Roblox Studio using the Rig Builder located within the Avatar tab.

rigtypes

HumanoidRootParts are not considered when counting body parts.

R36 is something I don’t think I can mention here.

Maybe you’re thinking about RTHRO?
