Hi everyone! I’ve started working alongside my partner on a survival/PvP based dinosaur game, [Dinosaur Era] (Dinosaur Era [TEMPORARILY CLOSED] - Roblox) It’s going to be a bright and low poly dinosaur game where players can hunt each other or just eat the available meat/leaves to survive. The main focus at the minute is pushing out more dinosaur species and allowing Players to have more customisation options in doing so.
What we have done so far is available for stress testing here! (Dinosaur Era [TEMPORARILY CLOSED] - Roblox) However please note that this is for testing new features as they are implemented so there are bound to be bugs and lacking features especially as it’s only two of us developing this game.
Complete features:
2 playable creatures: Allosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex
Hunger and thirst bar scripted by Coatz
Basic click-to-hit combat scripted by Coatz
A few plant models
The basic goals for the game are:
More dinosaur species + colour variants
In-game tutorial for new players
Small but detailed forest, beach etc. map with a day/night system and weather
In the long run, we’d like to have more features such as the ones listed above + NPC’s, quests etc. to differentiate the game from other dino survival games somewhat but we are learning as we go and namely making this for fun! Any feedback is hugely appreciated however.
I may or may not update this thread in the near future to post about recently added dino’s and updates and thank you for testing/giving feedback in advance.

I’ve recently begun working on the redesign for the map (concept below) in prep for pre-release so here are some tree models I’ve been developing for the multitude of different areas of the map.
Finished modelling majority of the tree’s so now it’s onto the other plants! These will be eatable for anyone who plays as a herbivore within the game, the meat models are going to be reworked for pre-release also so keep an eye out for those!
p.s. more plants are being worked on today just thought I’d share the first one here before I start on the rest!
Thank you! We’ve been working on it for only a few weeks now honestly, just something we’re doing for fun but currently been hard at work on recreating the map so that’s taking up a lot of the development time atm.
Thank you! Atm I’m working on the map redesign so haven’t been modelling any dino’s but I’ll reply to you here with a link to the video once I’ve finished up the map and started modelling dino’s again.
Finished the first area of the map’s redesign, Flier’s Haven! Here are some screenies of that as well as implementing the day/night cycle for our Players.
Did some more map work today and almost finalised Archcross! Then I’ll be working on Spino Silt before starting to model the Carnotaurus. The other two areas of the map will be implemented during alpha/beta.
Carno will be modelled, split, rigged and animated after this part of the map and then I’ll be working on more dino’s after that such as the Velociraptor, Spinosaurus etc.
The map for pre-release is more or less finished, just making some final tweaks to certain parts. The Carnotaurus will also be modelled and split this week so will be sharing images of that soon!
I tweaked the Carnotaurus design here and there to better suit my needs but here’s the (unsplit) Carnotaurus as of rn! He’s missing his teeth and tongue so will be adding those in later today but super happy with how he’s looking atm.
