Disable studio play/run via plugin script

Is there any way I can disable (and re-enable later on) the play & run buttons in studio through a plugin script? Or what about a core script?
It would be awesome if they were grayed out and/or a message were displayed when you click on them

Thanks

You can’t do that right now, but you can make a feature request for it in #platform-feedback:studio-features

Why would you want to do this? I doubt Roblox would implement this because it just seems like no one would ever want this.

There is no way to do this at the moment. I can’t see why you would want to do this in the first place. How will this benefit you while you are developing?

You could use this as an administration method for team create games.

Imagine you have a game you are working on and you need to finish writing and committing code. However, one of your teammates continues initiating a team test, which can prevent modification and also commits any changes to the working copy. So, I guess it would be useful to have something like this.

I see what you’re saying, but I still don’t think that’s a good enough reason to implement this. It’s very rare (rather, it’s almost never) that you’ll work with people without having solid communication with them. You can simply tell them to stop doing whatever they’re doing while you update the game through Skype or Discord.

Yes, I understand and agree with you. It does seem like the minority of people who would want this.

I just thought I should post a possible use case.

This is my use case

The uniqueness of this use case is irrelevant
This is not a feature request, I am asking how to accomplish something with the existing Roblox

Well, the answer to your question is No, you can’t. :pensive:

Yes, unfortunately, this is too much of a specific use case for this to actually get implemented, however I submitted a feature request a while ago about something similar to this. You may want to check it out:

That this isn’t exactly what you asked for, but it seems similar.

EDIT: Sorry, replied to the wrong person
