Earlier this month, my game had about 350 active running VIP servers. I released a substantial update to my game which ran into issues on startup, and I had to disable my game in order to properly address such issues quickly as I was under pressure.
My game was down for only 20 minutes while I fixed things. I knew it was going to cancel all my VIP server subscriptions, but I had no other choice as I needed to restrict players from accessing my game while I fixed critical issues.
All in all, I lost an estimated R$294,000 net income per year due to this bad feature that was in place. This doesn’t benefit me, roblox, or all the people who have to manually go repurchase their VIP servers.
A new solution to this is needed, disabling your game for a short period of time shouldn’t come with such an instant punishment.
Why not just freeze all subscriptions until the game re-opens? I have, say, 17 days left of Super Cool Legitimate Obby, and the obby closes for a couple days for some reason. When it re-opens, I still purchased those 17 days of Super Cool Legitimate Obby, so I should still have them.
Yeahh, the only major flaw I’m seeing with this idea is the fact that it moves the renew date forward, which may throw off players who were expecting it on an earlier date. Anybody have any ideas as to how to solve this issue of the suggestion?
Perhaps the renewal date stays the same but you get the amount of time the game is disabled for for free next month. E.g., game is down for 2 days month 1, month 2 you pay the normal amount less 2 days worth?
