Discobot to Builderman

I’ve Seen other people mention this so credits to them. I thought if we speak more about this interesting topic It may even come true.

My point is The automated greeting bot is “Builderman” on The ROBLOX Platform so it would make sense to make it on here to. So If it could possibly happen that would be amazing. Like I said it’s just a suggestion. Thank You

I don’t think people get confused by “Discobot”, I think its common knowledge that the Devforum uses discourse.

I mean I can see the appeal but this feels really extra, and like a real feature request, the big thing for the value of a feature is if it’s solving any problems. In this case, it’s strictly QoL, which makes it low priority (if any at all).

I’ve got no objections to such a change simply for the sake of cohesion to the platform, but if I am not mistaken, that’s not something that can actually be changed.

Looks like you are mistaken - you can customize Discobot if you have the appropriate trust level. There’s a thread in the Discourse Meta forums about this that sums it up:

While I do see the appeal of the change I think that happened I do believe that people would mistake the bot with the real person.

I didn’t even know that Discourse existed when I started on the DevForum. There’s probably lots of users who don’t know what it is either.

Adding on to what @Krunnie said here:

I honestly think that this isn’t something that really needs to be changed. Considering the fact that you interact with Discobot for a mere, what, 10 minutes? before never interacting with it ever again, this would be a bit of an unnecessary update.

Of course, I understand your argument, but seriously think to yourself, is this something that the forum needs?

I do understand your point- I just think for The newer users it would be a bit better.

And how so? If you give your reasoning it would help devrel understand why you want this. Though this is true:

so it would be a waste of time when “builderman” will never be interacted with again. I also think that keeping discobot is a good thing; you can easily distinguish a bot from an actual account.
