Dissatisfied with my old UI design and looking to brainstorm possible alternatives

Hi, I’m vanilla_wizard and I want to revamp the UI in my game called “Atlantic Hurricane Simulator.”

My game’s UI is really old (made in 2017) and I feel like it’s kind of ugly. It overuses basic built-in Roblox UI and I’ve always thought it needs a refresh. Problem is, I have no ideas right now and I could really use some help from people who know what they’re doing.

Not asking for ideas for new features or to have the current UI rated, just looking for any way to beautify the existing design or perhaps even redesign it entirely. Any suggestions are welcomed, big or small. Any specific things that stand out as needing to be changed & any ideas for how to change them would be hugely appreciated.

Here’s some pics of the UI at various resolutions:

Screenshot of gameplay in a larger resolution (sorry it's slightly cut off)

Screenshot of gameplay in a smaller resolution, possibly on a tablet

Screenshot of a menu (sorry about the jpeg compression, it's a random youtube thumbnail I found)

I feel like it’s kind of bland, unintuitive, hard to read on smaller devices, and all around just not up to 2024 standards.

If anything jumps out at you and you can think of a way to make it better, I’d absolutely love to hear it!
