Just a query about DMCA’s,
An individual who owns a group used an alternative account and was hired as a developer for my group. After this, he went ‘rogue’, making a copy of my main game, and then creating NSFW content ingame to get it taken down. The take-down was fixed, and I managed to recover deleted assets, however said individual is now using my assets in his game without my permission. Am I able to file a DMCA despite him being given developer access on an alternative account?
NSFW stuff in roblox is not allowed, since the main audience is kids (doesn’t mean there aren’t adults, but you get my point). Filing a report in Support - Robloxmight help explain the situation and solve the issue.
Yes, as long as you did not give them permission to use the assets in some way for this purpose, giving a user access to team create doesn’t create the automatic presence of such permission from you.
Filing a valid DMCA has virtually no consequences, there is a very likely chance the content will just stay down because they don’t want to go thru the in the process to start reversing a claim. In the unlikely case that reversing is attempted, you can lawyer up and bring it to court if you wish or otherwise it would be restored.
Please note I am not a lawyer, and this is not legal advice
Congrats on getting the takedown easily resolved, I’ve seen cases like this where that doesn’t happen.
