Hi all,
Recently, my game “Beekeepers!” got content deleted due to copyright issues with the game Bee Swarm Simulator. We have been working to resolve this, and once we have changed the game enough that Onett feels we are no longer infringing, we will re-release it.
One problem: People keep messaging me and our other developer asking about whether their data will be kept or not. I have no idea how to answer this currently as we don’t know if we will ever have access to the original place and datastores.
This isn’t the main issue though. The actual issue is the people who spent thousands of Robux on our game. Some have started demanding refunds, even sending us death threats over it. The others are concerned because they bought it expecting the game to stay alive and are sad that they wasted their money.
All of our gamepass-esque purchases were actually Developer Products as we had a multi-save system, and all the purchases were saved to a datastore. We have at least over 50+ pages of sales that we just cannot manually reward. It’d take actual hours to days.
How often does the original universe/game get unlocked after a DMCA claim?
(Sorry for if the category is wrong, I couldn’t really find any other fitting ones, and datastores are scripting related.)
