Do baseplate textures have to be a specific resolution

Was drawing some pixel baseplate texture for fun, and I downloaded it as a 256x256 pixel image. When I use this texture in roblox however nothing shows up, just the default part texture. Do baseplate textures have to be of a specific resolution to show?

does your blase plate already have a texture on it? have you tired putting it on as a decal, material variant, or surface appearance?
