Simple question: Do beams create lag?
I know the answer may not be straight forward, but I plan on using a bunch so I want to make sure they would still run fine on mobile with around a 30k part count.
From my experience beams are quite performant, a single beam on its own is typically equal to or lower than the memory usage of a part.
Here’s a stress test I did just to be sure. (Hardly experienced any lag, testing this extreme example where I have potentially performance affecting settings like LightInfluence and Transparency on along with beam movement)
Another thing that I should note, if for some reason you decide to use an absolutely insane amount of beams, there is a limit to how many render. This limit to beams scales with device performance/graphics quality settings so you should be safe no matter what.
