Hey! So for awhile now I’ve had an issue with my homestore. We use future lighting, and for me on my PC the lighting looks great. But our mobile users, no matter what their graphics settings are, appear to be stuck using shadowmap. I tested this myself and messed with the graphics settings on my phone, and still got the same result. Here is the link to the homestore. And here are some pictures.
This is mobile on my iPhone 8+ with full graphics. I tried messing with the graphics settings and it all looked the same.
To me it just looks like mobile users don’t get future lighting. I even programmed a script that attempts to enable Future for mobile users, but it doesn’t seem to work either. Anyone know anything about this?
Due to it’s unoptimised nature, I don’t think so. Phones do not have near the same specs as the minimum required PC specs to even get 30FPS with future lighting enabled.
I figured, is there anything I can do to even out the lighting? I know many games use future and it looks good on mobile as well as PC, any idea how to do that?
I know there are some ways to make Shadowmap look as if it’s Future lighting, and that’s by messing with the lighting settings (I have an extremely basic knowledge of how to actually do this, and you may need to look up tutorials on DevForum or YouTube). Personally though, I think your homestore looks great even without the Future lighting technology.
