Do Numbers Need To Be Filtered

Hi, I’m planning on making a system where players can enter in dates for other players to see. Everything would be numbers, would this require filtering?

What do u mean what proper Filtering? I didn’t get it.

I’ll change the title. I mean would numbers need to be filtered?

Oh okay. I see it now thx…

yes, like you know
A = 4
B = 8
C = idk
you can just write a bad word using numbers like 8008135

But, if I’m making sure it’s a real date would this still apply?

What is the date used for exactly?

Basically, some Roblox “Airlines” have a calendar which shows all the dates for their flights. I would want to create a calendar like this, and let players add flight dates to the calendar.

My name is censored in game and when you try to search it, which is backwards and stupid, but yes you must put all text that could be shown to players that’s player submitted through the filter.

Edit:
I didn’t expect this to be a solution, but I’ll just put the relevant community guidelines rule here:

  • Filter all chat and text . Developers must pass all chat and/or game text through Roblox’s filtering system. Roblox scans all chat communication and player inputted text for the safety of our users and legal compliance reasons, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). All chat and content must also be reportable through the Report Abuse system.

I think it’s probably best to remain on the safe side. So, I’ll just filter everything.

The alternative is to provide drop downs / scrollers to select each part of the date, and be sure that you can’t select dates in the past.

Like this, but with years 2021 onwards only.

That way it cannot be used to share your birthdate with anyone, and it isn’t text input if they select it from developer-entered values instead of free text.
