Assuming a mystery or puzzle seems that it was meant to be solved, but it goes unsolved for years, does its existence add value to a game versus never including it in the first place?

Mysteries in some games are meant to be something that adds some extra content to the game. . sometimes they are related to the lore, sometimes some hidden feature to make alot of players wonder…and investigate
I dont think mysteries and puzzles, even after many years “Unsolved”, are nothing or useless, depending on the game It Will hold some sentimental value for the Fans…
