I assume it doesn’t, but I can’t seem to find any information that actually proves it.
Had this question since I recently chatted with someone who seemed to have issues with that. I’m not sure if they just didn’t explain the situation correctly or if ad manager actually requires a payment method linked to your roblox account.
I believe you can choose to either add a credit/debit card to purchase Ad Credits, or choose to purchase Ad Credits with just Robux. You can just choose to purchase Ad Credits with Robux if you don’t want to link your credit/debit card on it.
I understand that theres a choice between both in purchasing ad credits, just that certain sources which talked about how to use the ad manager seemed to be stating that even if I were to buy ad credits with robux, I’d need to link a payment method in order to actually run ads.
Quoting from Ads Manager Docs:
Before you can create and manage ads on Roblox, you first need to provide a payment method. To add a payment method to your ad account:
Navigate to Payment Settings in the Ads Manager.
There are two payment methods available for selection:
Credit or Debit Card: Credit or debit cards are available for users 18 and above. A temporary $1.00 USD hold will be placed on the card and refunded after verification is complete within 7 business days.
Robux Ad Credit: Converting Robux into ad credits to fund your campaigns is available for all users 13 and up. For more information, see Convert Robux to ad credits.
Payment method simply refers to the method used to purchase the Ad Credits. It does not require you to link your credit/debit card.
Im pretty sure this warning is misleading because i previously created ads without a payment method and just with robux

Seriously misleading since it says to “add” a payment method, which seems to exclude buying ad credits (as thats just paying)
