Part on the left is the same, but with 0 Transparency.
Model itself was sent to me by a friend, who got it from someone else. Id love to know how to replicate this so I could be more flexible with special shadow layouts and whatever.
No decals, textures or anything. Friend says he got it using “Alpha Erase” in Maya, but thats about it. Ive tried looking up equivalents of that in other modeling programs, but im at a loss.
Could be more simple than you think. When exporting a textured mesh from blender as fbx, it exports with the texture embedded onto it already. Using blender you can achieve this effect. Vertex paint/texture paint on a cube the fade from dark to nothing (light). Export as fbx. Change transparency to 0.05 so that the texture shows.
