Does grouping parts reduce lag?

Hey! I usually don’t build but today I am, but does grouping parts help reduce lag or no? Any help would be appreciated!

No, I don’t think so!

If you want to reduce lag, I would suggest reducing double bricks and turning models into meshes. (Common way of doing this is recreating an item in blender.)

I don’t think so either.
However, when you get into bigger builds it’s much easier to be organized if you have things organized into Folders or Models.
Folders are good since if you are building a detailed house you can have:
House > FirstFloor > LivingRoom > Couch
so that when you are searching through your game Explorer window you don’t have to scroll through a tonne of Parts to get to where you need to be.

I’ve heard that it apparently ‘‘Reduces Part counts’’… I don’t know how that’s supposed to work, but I tried it for myself, and it does seem to make a good chunk of difference. Grouping and Foldering is good regardless of performance.

I once placed 527 realistic trees in workspace, when I grouped it my fps increased from 20 to 46

Groups are meant for organizing certain objects around. When it comes to lag frames-wise, you’d have to learn optimization.

Usually optimized assets are made in Blender and in Studio using the Wireframe Rendering feature that displays all edges of the mesh/model/part/object/particle/etc…

Of course, things like this aren’t just the cause of lag, it may be that something specific in the game’s library is not meant to be in a specific location such as a Humanoid in the Workspace.
Lag can also be affected by things such as an incredible amount of Welds attached between Parts that are mostly anchored which usually happens to be enabled to Developers who just have started Developing on this platform.

It’s about 500 to 2~k in Blender
