Does money laundering break ToS?

Hello!

I just wanted to get other people’s input in regard to adding money laundering to my game.

My game is about selling candy in a school where you earn cash for doing it. However, I have limited the amount of cash a player can put into their online balance (in my game) during a set period of time e.g per week.

I want to add features like buying businesses where you can launder your cash into your bank however I’m not sure if this breaks roblox ToS.

I know little about Roblox’s ToS but I have seen games with the title “Money Laundering simulator” and similar concepts. They have been on the platform for a while and have not yet been taken down. I would say you are probably fine adding this into your game but maybe do some more research just to play it safe. (There are also games about cooking baby’s so how bad can this really be?)

Youre be good, since it is not a real money which is only in your game then that should be fine. The reason is that, it is a game mechanic and not the real-life world money out of Roblox

What this “law” in the roblox TOS is prohibiting is using roblox to somehow launder money that you obtained in real life. I don’t think it means that you can’t make a “money laundering simulator” game. But considering the quality of roblox’s moderation, I would be cautious.

I’m seeing a pattern of a variety of developers wanting the answer to this. The answer is clear and straightforward. Roblox’s moderation system is randomized. Do you like gambling? Then you’ll love rolling the dice with Roblox moderation! There’s no consistency whatsoever in what games they take down and which ones they don’t. Gunfight Arena & Frontlines could’ve easily been deleted a long time ago for being about guns and violence. If you’re afraid of the risk… then don’t do it. There’s never any guarantee of safety when uploading games like the one you’ve described. Hope this clears the air!
