So we’re planning to release our game on beta and spend 5k robux on advertisements to find investors who are willing to invest in our game. So my method for them to know that we are finding one is by putting a local script inside a starter player scripts that runs a servermessage when a player joins the game
this is the text: “Thanks for playing Stairs of Hell. We are currently looking for investors for this game. If you’re interested kindly dm us on our discord server down bellow the game’s description.”
I wonder if making such thing breaks roblox’s tos that might lead to our game getting banned
Asking for investments is not allowed on the forum, so if it’s not allowed here it’s probably not allowed on the main website, especially considering there is no native way to invest. And you don’t need investors either. If you can make a server message to ask people if they want to invest you can send a different message like “share the game if you liked it” or something along those lines.
It CAN break TOS. If you really need a investor, try finding one in Hidden Developers server. The code is HD. You can get some investors there who are interested in your game.
I found investors in both the servers.
HD I found 2 weeks ago and in RoDevs I found 3-4 days ago.
Everything depends on the game and the idea and the thing which the investor will get in return.
Then you message people on ROBLOX who’s bio says Investor or they are in a group where their role is Investor.
Discord plays a very important role in this and if you don’t have then I suggest you to download it and make a account.
Yes, it does break TOS, you are not allowed to mention discord at all! Also, majority of the top games are made without investors and your spending 5k for a chance to find an investor? That’s a gamble. Majority of investors will not click on random games their not interested in. If you really need an investor, try to build relationships with others and you could get affiliated in a big project where investments are not needed. (Also, people are legally allowed to scam investors (not give them a percentage) and are deemed as donators in roblox’s eyes, which makes it risky to invest in games.)
That’s less of an issue with the actual platform itself and more of an issue with how you use the site. It’s very easy to avoid toxic people on Discord, just like it’s easy to not constantly check the platform. Discord is really going to be most people’s best bet on finding team members and investors for their game because it is such a huge platform with all sorts of communities. There really isn’t anything like it right now for stuff like that.
