Does too many Audio objects cause lag?

I’m currently developing a Piggy style puzzle game. At some point I had the idea of utilizing audio objects in many of the overhead lights and rooms for some immersion.

However, I was wondering whether this amount of playing audio objects (there would possibly be over two dozen with the size of the map) would have a noticeable decrease in performance. In addition, would utilizing volumetric audio expatriate this issue further? Or is its impact very minor?

I’ve already checked the Forums for an answer, unfortunately though it seems this is a very obscure question.

Short summary: Yes because objects require processing power and memory.
