DR - Information Guide

Welcome!

The Docklands Railway (often abbreviated as DR), is a project to recreate the DLR in London.

Previous attempts at recreating the DLR often include unnecessary sky, group locks, and all sorts of things.
This version (will, when it’s finished…) actually contains scenery (which is mostly unioned, however)

*Note that the name Docklands Railway is being used instead of Docklands Light Railway. This is due to copyright, and we really don’t want DMCA claims from TfL.

Routes

The actual DLR has 6 routes. On initial release, only those normal service runs that can operate (mostly) de-interlined will be playable. These are:

  • Bank to Lewisham
  • Tower Gateway to Beckton
  • Stratford (Regional) to Canary Wharf
  • Stratford International to Woolwich Arsenal via London City Airport

In future, these additional normal service runs will be added:

  • Bank to Woolwich Arsenal via London City Airport
  • Stratford International to Beckton
  • Stratford (Regional) to Lewisham
  • Bank to Lewisham via West India Quay in both directions

And services that would not operate during normal operation nowadays will also be included, such as:

  • Bank to Beckton
  • Tower Gateway to Woolwich Arsenal via London City Airport
  • Stratford (Regional) to Bank
  • Stratford (Regional) to Tower Gateway
  • Tower Gateway to Crossharbour (likely to be a P86/89 exclusive)
Rolling Stock

Until I manage to get full double-units running, the line will be served by half-length single units, and I literally don’t mean any interconnecting passageways.

  • P86 Stock (Will be done after the B90/92/2K, contains Double-leaf doors, as originally fitted)
  • P89 Stock (Will be done after the B90/92/2K, contains Single-leaf doors, as retrofitted in the '90s)
  • B90/92/2K Stock (Probably will be done first) (B90 in original condition, B92/B2K as refurbished)
  • B07/09 Stock (Likely to come much later)
  • B23 Stock (Likely to be the last one completed, owing to aerodynamics…)

The units will be numbered as follows:
01-11 - P86 units.
12-21 - P89 units.
22-44 - B90 units.
45-91 - B92 units.
92-16 - B2K units. (when delivered, the DLR couldn’t use 3-digit unit numbers, and so opted to wrap-around back to 16.)
101-155 - B07/09 units.
201-254 - B23 units.

Excluding the P86 and B23, all units will (once added) be able to operate in multiple. This is because…

  • The P86 was never operated in multiple (except whenever necessary, such as with the aptly-named “Push-Out procedure”)
  • The B23 is a 5-car single unit train, designed to have similar capacity levels (and a similar train length) to a triple-unit B90/92/2K, such as what is rostered to the Bank to Lewisham route. These units won’t run in multiple except whenever necessary.
Station Information

Tower Gateway
Recent development will be largely ignored, and the station will be constructed in the original 1987 style. The same thing will apply to a few stations on the Stratford (Regional) branch.
Bank
Teleporters will be used to get to/from the ticket hall. (on original release; the station interior will be included in future updates, including the banks of lifts leading to the ticket hall)
West India Quay
Not served by trains from Bank (on original release; functionality to allow Bank to Lewisham trains to serve this station in both directions will be included in future updates)
Mudchute
Until the Lewisham Extension is completed, trains will terminate at Platform 3.
(this functionality will remain after the extension opens, however, in order to allow for short-turns to occur if required.)
London City Airport
Due to constraints, the airport won’t be fully built.
Stratford
Trains use 2 parts of the station.
Platforms 4A/4B: Stratford to Canary Wharf
Platforms 16/17: Stratford International to Woolwich Arsenal
Other platforms won’t be shown (at least on initial release). Teleporters will be used to get between the platforms.
