when im in play solo, i cant use shortcuts to change the dragger modes. i have to use the top bar to switch. it works in the regular edit mode. Niche issue, but i like to build in play solo. With the old draggers, this works fine.
Thanks for the report! I filed a ticket in our internal database.
These shortcuts are explicitly disabled right now so that the number keys can be passed to the backpack so as to not interfere with playtesting gameplay.
Could you explain why you want to build in Play mode?
I don’t want explictly to build during play mode, but I VERY often use Select tool to see all part’s data, mainly my attributes which are a link to more complex structure.
Sometimes I intentionally want to move smth to see that script works.
Sometimes I want to no-clip trough 1 wall.
Final use-case is mass-deletion to avoid lags.
There’s mass of use-cases, tbh…
So the issue is not so much that you want to frequently switch between tools, but rather you want your tool selection muscle memory to carry over from Edit?
Did you customize the shortcuts back to Ctrl+# in Edit or are you using just # in Edit?
- I have relatively small screen, so I work only with keybinds and hidden topbar.
- Tried both, ctrl+N and just N
-
I could build in play mode before, so i expect to now
-
the new default binds are just the number keys, i get it, but i set mine to the old Crtl +# , perhaps when this happens there could be an exception to allow the keybinds?

In old roblox, building in play mode was very very very common, so it’s muscle memory for me. The days of btools, building games, and private build servers. Helps you build while being a player ya know? I dont use it a lot, but when i do ill usually make some mockup thats relevant to the character scale and POV, then copy it over into edit mode.
