Dragon Rage

I just released my newest game, Dragon Rage. The goal of the game is to survive on the island and avoid falling off. Dragons will be flying through the map, slowly destroying it. If you fall into the water, you will drown. If you get hit by a dragon, you go flying.

Winning a round gives you tokens, which you can spend on cosmetic items such as hats/faces, or gear/upgrades which assists you in surviving.

The game is in it’s early stages, so it doesn’t have as many features. It’s pretty basic right now. I plan on adding events and stuff to give a more variety of gameplay.

Try it and tell me what you think. If you have any suggestions, please share them.

But wait! There’s more: I added a code for RBXDev members. It will give you 250 tokens. I’ll only keep it active for a bit, so grab it while you can:
RBXDEV-FTW-1337
(I had to make it more difficult to guess. Please don’t share it outside of RBXDev.)

Edit: I’ve been noticing large server lag spikes. It causes everything (including players) to freeze for a few seconds. Is this a thing that has been happening in other servers, or is my game causing this lag?

I ought to be the best ever at this game, seeing as I am an actual dragon.

A couple of the edit character buttons are getting blocked by the chat UI.

I love it! I played a game like this on Roblox a year or two ago, this is like a super polished version of it!!

kinda annoying that I have to wait 30 minutes between entering codes
EDIT:
and it’s so annoying how far the shops are from the character customization area!! I equip anything during intermission because I couldn’t get there fast enough

also, the lag makes it super unplayable, I suggest disabling the dragon animations and see if that makes a difference

I pressed the camera button right when the round ended and I got stuck on the loading screen until I reset.

I reduced it to 15 minutes. I only have a wait limit because I have one-time use codes, and I’m worried someone would go and redeem multiple ones, preventing others from redeeming them. I might lower it more as it grows in popularity.

Right now, it doesn’t seem very dragon-y: it feels like Survive the Disasters except the shape of the island changes every time and the only disaster is dragons, AND it’s like a game show or something. I think of dragons being more medieval than game shows. The lobby is nice, the GUI is nice, the UI is nice, but I just don’t hear it screaming “Dragons!!!”

Also, it would be a little more challenging if you restricted the amount people could zoom out.

I’m having a lot of problems trying to figure this out. It only lags when there’s multiple players. It’s not noticeable when there’s a few. I’ll try the animations.

Thanks, I’ll take a look at that. Maybe prevent you from going into spectate at like <10 seconds or so?

having a hard time figuring out how to equip things, and seeing a few other people asking the same thing.

edit: found it in edit character

So I disabled the animations, but I’m not sure how much I like it. They seem boring.

I don’t know how they help performance wise, since this was done in studio.

The only issue with the dragons is that their network ownership changes like fifty times a second and they get stuck in the ground whenever their owner has lag until someone else takes over.

Why are you characters the same as those from Blox Hunt?

Same studio. My brother made the characters. (Lion2323)

Yeah, I’ve been watching this. Whenever the dragons lag, the network receive drops down extremely low.

I have no experience with network ownerships or whatever it is. Is there any way to fix that?

Oh wow, never knew that, hah.

Tiger, I’d highly suggest removing the animations – but only from the server. Make the server responsible for moving around the dragons and have the client do the wing animations locally.

Also, it seems like part of the game concept was inspired by a certain Minecraft minigame.

I’ll look into that.

Also, it is based off of a minecraft minigame. I have it in the description: “Based off a Minecraft minigame from the server, Mineplex.”

Edit: Switched the animations to local. Version 0.0.4 BETA servers should have this update. I don’t know how much it fixes the lag, but we will see.

I feel like I’m a white pebble in the middle of a game of Hungry, Hungry Hippos…

I like the game though!

Now, add a nightfury that completely destroys things plox.

Feels like after you walk out of the water, you’re back down to regular speed even if you had the speed upgrades.
