Im drawing particle effects on photoshop and krita want to know how you would draw this effect
I’ve tried using distort filters but they all come out very sharp and not as blurry or as misty as the one above

I’m not super experienced with PS, so take this with a grain of salt. I’d just dup the layer, blur it a bit, then use the liquify tool to give it the warped look. Maybe do that a few times with a few different layers, maybe throw some noise in there too.
(Note that I’d probably use a thicker spiral to start with. The one above is quite thin.)
you can apply a slight gaussian blur then just use the smudge tool
Using that method I got this, it’s not quite right but I think messing with the layering and opacity a bit will get me there
keep that old image and over lay is with the new one
