Drop shadow with invisible part? / Disable lightning in specific area to make it darker?

Hey. I have a rather stupid question, but maybe someone knows a life hack. Is it possible to cast a shadow on an object without blocking the sky? Yes, I know - nonsense. I need to plunge one of the sections of the map into darkness, despite the fact that the sky is open. Maybe there is some bug or trick?

I do not believe this is possible as the only way it works is shadows form, from objects in the workspace. It might be able to be accomplished but I do not think its possible, good luck on whatever your making it sounds interesting!

If I read your post correctly… Maybe you should try to turn the sky into night or some script that makes the player kind of blind, like Minecraft’s blindness:

I really don’t think you can cast a shadow on an invisible part; but you can do some other things with scripts

I don’t want to change the “Sunny view” of the map, it must be abnormally dark. Apparently I will have to somehow get out of this situation…

Can you give us a pic of your idea or some kind of example?

ForceField material 0.95 transparency is the best thing I achieved

I got an idea; why don’t you add a decal picture of a sky on a giant part over the players; then add some point lights pointing at that part.

Just an idea

The fact is that the map is very large and all with an open sky, if you put a picture there, then it will be very visible from a different angle and will stand out, + various weather conditions.
In addition, it seems to me that the picture itself does not cast a shadow, but only the block itself. That is, a visible block with a picture of the sky will float in the air.

Have you tried a white colored Smoothplastic part at the transparency just before shadow gets removed?
