2. How to play

There isn’t much in concerns of playability in Dunwall until you decide to join a group. As a groupless player you don’t have many activities other than working to gain cash, attacking other players or becoming a citizen. By joining a group you can gain a plethora of new activities and events to enact alongside the group you are in, from City Defense to gangs.
3. How to be a citizen

You can become a Citizen of Dunwall by reaching the level 10 and joining the Dunwall group, this allows you access past the first gate of light while deeming you an actual citizen of Dunwall.
4. Monetary Gain

At the current state of the game there is only four ways to gain coins, these ways of monetary gain are as follow;
- Buying Coins (Found in the shop gui of Dunwall)
- Doing Contracts (Found in the bar of Dunwall)
- Daily Reward (Gained every 24 hours)
- Searching in trash. Search in the trash for items and sell them to a mysterious person.
- Giveaways (Found in the discord of Dunwall)
However in coming times you’ll be able to do gang warfares for gaining territory or working to gain coins, allowing you to gain cash without having to be patient.
5. Level Gain

There are two ways to gain levels in Dunwall, and that’s by killing players or doing contracts. However, some players can yield a higher experience reward then others, City Defense giving the highest experience whereas normal players give the least.
6. Items
Weapons
Sabre
The Sabre is a weapon any player can get simply by buying the permanent sabre gamepass, joining City Watch, Grand Guard, Abbey of the Everyman, or buying a Sabre from the Illegal Weapons Store. The Sabre is a normal sword that can block with right click and strike with left click.
Flintlock
The Flintlock is a weapon any player can get simply by buying the permanent flintlock gamepass, joining City Watch, Grand Guard, Abbey of the Everyman, or buying a Flintlock from the Illegal Weapons Store.
Crossbow
The Crossbow is a weapon any player can get by buying the permanent crossbow game pass or joining the Whalers
Meat Cleaver
The Meat Cleaver is a weapon any player can get by joining any gang in Dunwall.
Assassin’s Sabre
The Assassin’s Sabre is a weapon any player can get by joining the Whalers.
Dagger
The Dagger is a weapon any player can get by buying it in-game for 10 coins. It’s a fast damage weapon.
Gadgets
Grenade
The Grenade is a weapon any player can get simply by buying a grenade from the illegal weapons store.
Health Elixir
The Health Elixir is an elixir any player can get by buying the elixirs pack gamepass or buying one from the Elixir store, this elixir restores health when used.
Mana Elixir
The Mana Elixir is an elixir any player can get by buying the elixirs pack gamepass or buying one from the Elixir store, this elixir restores mana when used.
Chokedust
Chokedust is a damaging smoke grenade any player can get by joining the Whalers.
Overseer’s Music Box
The Overseer’s Music Box is a device any player can get by joining the Abbey of the Everyman, when equipped the device will start to drain nearby player’s mana.
Charm
A mysterious tool that grants it’s holder with healing when the holder kills. It heals by 5 health a second for 5 seconds, effectively healing you by 25 points.
7. Locations of interest
The current locations of Dunwall are as follows;
The Gates of Light
The Gates of Light are deadly gates guarded by the City Defense, which lead towards the City Watch spawnpoint. They kill you if you touch them, but are quite easy to disable.
The Elixir Shop
Found directly down the street, the Elixir shop gives the player access to two elixirs; the Health and Mana elixir.
The Bar
Found right to the left of the Elixir shop is a small bar. Inside of the bar is another room connected to it, inside of this room is a contract giver who will give you contracts against City Defense.
The Illegal Weapons Store
The final notable location, which is to the left of the Bar hoisted on a balcony, is the illegal weapons store. In here you can buy three different weapons, the Sabre, Flintlock and Grenade.
8. City Defense
City Defense involves three different groups all oriented in some way towards the betterment of Dunwall.
a. City Watch
City Watch is tasked with protecting the city, the gates of light, and it’s law. Joining City Watch is done by joining a common tryout. As a member of City Watch you are given the Sabre and Flintlock to further defend.
a. Abbey of the Everyman
Abbey of the Everyman is tasked with hunting down mark-bearers (Players with the Mark of the Outsider) and law-breakers. Joining Abbey of the Everyman is done by joining a more uncommon tryout. As a member of Abbey of the Everyman you are given the Overseer’s Music Box, Sabre, Grenade and Flintlock to hunt down the heretics.
a. Grand Guards
Grand Guard is tasked with guarding people of importance, most notably Lord Regent or high ranking City Defense officials. Joining Grand Guard is done by joining an uncommon tryout. As a member of Grand Guard you are given the Sabre and Flintlock to defend your high priority peoples.
9. Gangs
Currently there is only four notable gangs in the city of Dunwall, they are;
These gangs can be freely joined and all give you a special sword called the Meat Cleaver. Gangs can also be put into territorial warfare, as mentioned in monetary gain, for taking control of territories to gain cash. Currently Bottle Street Gang is the most active while Dead Eels Gang is the most populated.
10. Whalers
The Whalers is a group of supernatural assassins equipped with their own sabres and a special item known as Chokedust, they are also equipped with the Mark of the Outsider, allowing them abilities such as Blink, allowing you to teleport, Dark Vision, allowing you to see players through walls, and Wind Blast, allowing you blow players away with wind. Joining the Whalers is very difficult as it requires a rare and very difficult tryout, The Whalers are the strictest group throughout Dunwall, but one of the strongest.
