Duplicated meshes vs unique meshes


Lets give for example, I’m making some terrain at the moment! And I am using meshes. Would it be wiser to duplicate meshes?


The way i see it is that if you use the same mesh 50 times it only needs to load the asset once and place them down. If there are 50 different meshes it has to load it in 50 assets.

Is it better to have more parts or more meshes?

I do believe with instancing now released it is a better idea to recycle your meshes most of the time.
