DWM.exe uses 70%+ GPU when Roblox runs

Every time I try to play a Roblox game, Desktop Window Manager spikes in GPU usage. These effects are constant in every game even on graphics level 1. I observed the GPU usage when roblox was running and when it wasn’t, and the GPU spike only occurs when roblox is specifically running. Any other 3D game I play on my pc does not spike my GPU to 99%, which has led me to believe this is a roblox issue. I also tried to completely reset my pc by formatting my harddrive and reinstalling windows, however, the issue is still apparent.
My computer specifications:

Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz 2.80 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I also want to note that sometimes the two swap and roblox starts using more GPU than dwm.exe. The pattern is unpredictable and even on graphics level 1 doing nothing the GPU usage changes. I have never experienced something like this to happen except for very recently.

enable haptics in roblox settings ingame

I tried this and it seemed to have worked. DWM isn’t using a lot of GPU now, but it’s strange how “Haptics” caused this. I also tried to reinstall my drivers and it’s really hard to pinpoint what the issue is. I’m lost and I don’t even know if changing settings improves it or not.

Note: I have a issue with same process using CPU ingame. Got flagged for spam because this forum (kind of) felt like censorship. Trying the following fix

The haptics setting doesn’t seem to be the solution. I still get 30 fps when I play roblox and DWM.exe is taking up 99% of my GPU. Even with the lowest graphics and lowest texture quality possible nothing changes. Not even installing new graphics drivers or a pc reset did anything.

do you have a dedicated gpu or integrated?

I have an integrated GPU that is powerful enough to render roblox, and this issue just happened recently.

can you download hwinfo and check the gpu usage there? task manager might not report it correctly due to some drivers issue (or the way it calculates itself)

// example of how to check and the difference in gpu utilization reported from hardware and the one in task manager

Show performance tab in task manager.

due to some drivers issue (or the way it calculates itself)

It is the way Task manager calculates GPU utilization, and can be inaccurate at times

Where do I check the gpu usage? I just see this big panel with a bunch of buttons and text.

The issue happens seemingly randomly, but this is what the performance tab looks like. Even if the calculation is inaccurate I still get 15 fps in roblox. (I’m on graphics level 3 and normally GPU usage is 30%~)

Solved: This is only an issue for me since I realized that when I plugged my laptop in this started happening to roblox. When I unplugged it everything went back to normal.
