Dynamic Skies Are Getting Cloudy

I think you’re talking about phase 1, unless people you think the current clouds are phase 2? Which I think aswell.

Yeah Im talking about phase 1. My bad on that part. They said they are going to release more properties for clouds shortly after.

I’m waiting for them to make them look a lot better.

place the cloud instance in workspace.Terrain

aw man that sucks, you didn’t put it in terrain

When did they change it this around?

Since never. It’s always been in there.

Nope, I use to be able to put it in lighting, and it always worked, so this is a recent change.

like a few weeks ago. The reasoning they said is that the clouds will be 3D, and thus an object in 3D space, not necessarily a lighting/atmospheric change

Nah what @Crazedbrick1 means is when phase 1 launched in July, clouds became bounded to just Terrain. Assuming you’re seeing this feature rn or something. If you scroll up, there is an announcement w all the information.

Put it in terrain. it makes it more realistic and shows better

Putting it in terrain has no effect in the realism, and it doesn’t show better because in anywhere but terrain it doesn’t show at all.

My biggest question, Is there going to be beta builds (like with FIB or avatar EVO) With unstable versions of the new features or are they going to be rolled out in the beta menu?

Also I think most devs would love if we could adjust the Hight and cloud Size and use multiple layers

I am also running windows 11, If you put the clouds in terrain they seem to work.

That worked for me too, I was confused of why it didn’t work when placed in lighting, but they changed it to terrain some weeks ago.

Before the clouds had to be in terrain, it could be placed anywhere, it was funny lol.

Same here. I’ve tried them on a couple of my experiences now and they just seem to work well. Here’s one of them:

One more thing, I suggest everyone to use clear skies, trust me, the clouds are gonna look a thousand times better with a clear skybox as compared to a regular one.

was this done using particles or whatever? or is it like sunrays casted from lamps and very goo dmoficitaion? is this made in roblox studio or a modified roblox?

It was made in a separate studio build. It was in v15 of the fib project. Though v15 doesnt work anymore, but I think v14 and older works to do this. It wasent an offical feature, and from what I know it was just a bug that allowed you to do this. But you no longer can.
