I don’t remember where it was but a Roblox developer confirmed it somewhere I don’t remember exactly but what they confirmed was that
This project has been halted at the moment and it’s being unknown when or even if it will go on ahead. He said that due to surveys and such they saw that most people are struggling with performance.
That’s why they are trying to bring occlusion culling and Native LuaU(Only for servers atm, planned release is this year but I doubt they will release it this year). They don’t want to create a gap between mobile users and the rest. They said after they get more performance then they will start focusing more on some graphical features
They also said they are in the research of trying to see if they can find a way to bring something like “shaders” because they will have to make some that will be consistent across all platforms. So hopefully they manage to find a solution about that or they won’t bring such feature. That’s all.

I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since this was announced but anyways I decided to go find it and provide you all the real answers so you don’t have to take my word on it but take theirs. These are from the AMA that happened on January 24 on 2024 so just a few months ago. I don’t know why they never provided an answer here.
And while this is a little off topic regarding shaders they said this. I am not entire sure what they define as “shaders” as this word really does differs from person to person.

I think we need like a blank skybox where we can just change the colors of it, like on a sunny day have the sky to be blue otherwise just dark
