(Early Stages) Feedback on our Australian Western Game

(The game is in Early Stages!)

Me & some friends are making a Australian Western Styled game. I’m at a stump on what to make this town look more to life. I will be adding AI to stores such as the Gunsmith or A Bartender for the Saloon. The town looks normal except for a couple key things I am missing to make it feel more alive and working. there is a working chimney inside the Police Station (Sheriff) but other than that nothing really feels alive.

I was thinking possibly Ai horses that are hitched up on the poles Infront of the buildings but wasn’t 100% sure I should for lag reasons or its a little too far for a Roblox game. Overall I need some feedback & ideas to make the game feel alive. (I am working on the road/dirt paths)

Add some props to the streets, some barrels, streetlamps, a shrine or statue in the middle of the town (An NPC performing local music with a guitar on the streets, just an idea). Just try to emulate how a town would be in real life and decorate the streets.

The roads feel empty… But the idea is nice!

As an Australian, the choice of trees (being pine) and the flat roofs of the building is terrible.

Most old Australian buildings I’ve seen are usually built with a angled metal sheet roof, and everything else being wood.

All I’m seeing is American architecture in what I read is supposed to be an Aussie-Based game.

As for how to make the town come to life, have wanted posters around (maybe for Ned Kelly or a fictional version of him) and have NPCs scattered everywhere.

My rating as an Aussie:

2/10

Does not look or feel Australian one bit. Architecture and nature simply does not fit an Australian aesthetic.
The forest is too green and has too many trees, not 1 Gum Tree in sight and every tree being a pine tree. We don’t have entire forests of them that I know of, especially 100 years ago where I assume this game takes place.

I get that you want to mix the two ideas of Australian and Western, but if you’re going to label it as Australian, at least try to make it visually look like it. All I see is America.

I see your point, the roofs can be worked on but the trees are more as a placeholder at the moment till we get the trees that we are modelling.

The roof of buildings will be worked on so I thank you for that but also the police office is brick which is a part of Australian history. Thanks for the feedback mate

road and house lanterns, outdoor shops and transportation tools

horses as you said and people trading, working, and perhaps chilling outside

statues and less of a wide perfect path making everything look monotone

buildings at the end of a road instead of all roads leading to the out-of-town

You should introduce more animals, and weather effects. It really looks desolate and pretty uncanny or creepy, if not try adding some debris or other NPCS that are client sided to reduce your issues for lag. And if you want, add more guns. You said it’s western styled. Give it a load of 'em.

Overall the builds are pretty nice, looks pretty believable at further distances.
