Hi everyone,
My game recently received a payout for an item purchase that me and my group does not sell. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue and how did you handle it?

I believe you can sell items that are not owned by you(like clothes and gear) and you get a cut of it while the owner of the item also gets a cut, if this is not intentional then a virus/backdoor is likely
If its a glitch, it’ll likely be resolved eventually. But are you sure it’s not just a premium payout? I’ve seen a lot of group owners question mysterious payouts and it turns out it was just a premium payout.
Nope, as it was part of the csv file that I could export for selling developer items.
oh i didn’t know about this. this is interesting!
Yes if it is this I recommend to get rid of whatever script is importing that in since it can contain other malicious code
You may have earned commission. Commission is 10% of the sale (I believe this is taken out of the 30% tax, so the owner does not lose any of the sale, but I’m not really sure on this.)
There is a section of the transaction page (both in groups and personally) that shows this.
There is also a tab for commissions on the transaction page:
While as @Thedagz said, there may be an infected script in your game selling a third party item (As an example: a “150 R$ for Admin” Developer Product, that spam users in your game to purchase it, but doesn’t give them any form of admin, and can be bought repeatedly with no use), this can only be done if you have “Third Party Sales” turned on in your game’s security settings (by default it’s off)
Because of the above, usually being set to off, most cases, you’ll earn commission via players purchasing clothes via inspecting other players (which will circumvent the Third Party Sales privacy settings)
You can also place items in your game for users to buy that are owned by other players (and you would need to set Third Party Sales to on) and you would collect commission. For an example, if you made a mall and sold other users’ clothes.
