Recently I’m making sure that I’m actually able to use the background tracks I’ve put in my game, and I’m not exactly sure if earning Robux from the game would be considered earning money. One of the artists is fine as long as I don’t earn money, which is why I’m unsure of this really. I don’t want any copyright Issues / legal issues. Worst comes i can just remove the 2 tracks and find new ones, not a huge deal. What do you guys think?
also, please tell me if this is the wrong category. Not exactly sure which this belongs in since its not building/scripting.
I know, but the conversion rate having each worth .0035 is what confuses me as technically each robux is worth a third of a penny which still is money.
That also confuses me, in the process roblox makes money from kids spending cash on roblox, and devs using the dev-ex program. Best to keep the robux or get hired as a dev where they pay your IRL cash.
Ok, so I’m writing two answers to the thing I think your saying.
Earning Robux. It can only be earned by selling game passes, clothes, UGC, etc.
Yes, you are earning money. Because you are commercializing your game even for in-game money you are earning something and because Robux can be converted into real money you are earning money.
I’d contact that artist to see if it’s ok with them that you earn Robux but you are not converting it. Really it’s up to the copyright holder if you don’t convert Robux, Check with them. If its a company you may have to bite the bullet and buy a license, Also for further reference any sort of commercialization is technically selling something therefore you are earning something.
