Enable another Discourse post flagging functionality, to minimise NSFW raids

As many of you should know, you can ‘flag’ a post to report it to moderations, for being off topic, inappropriate, spam or something else.

Discourse (the open-source platform that the Devforum is built on) offers a variety of options for what happens when a post, a topic or a user receives too many flags within a particular time. However, only one of these (posts that have been flagged 3+ times are automatically hidden) is actually enabled.

As I’m writing this post, a user is spamming NSFW content and gore (highly inappropriate images) in a variety of topics. It can take hours for a moderator to respond, and even then it still takes time for it to be properly handled. This sort of things has happened before, and it will happen again.

My proposition is that another one of these features is enabled.

A setting that is usually enabled by default is that that if a user is flagged for spam 3 times from 3 different users), then all of the user’s posts are hidden. By accessing the site settings, it should be possible to reenable it, expand the functionality to inappropriate posts instead of just spam, and make it so it affects more trust levels (even including regular ranked users). This would be significantly helpful with these NSFW raids.

This should’ve been a feature since May 2023, when the slvcs situation happened where he posted blood and gore. Roblox really needs to add this feature

I also think that the “Show hidden post” button shouldnt be a thing if it was flagged as violent/inappropriate like im going to throw up of course a normal sane human being will click on show…

This Discourse setting doesn’t work out of the box because users on devforum aren’t trust level 0.

Discourse only has spam-related settings for new accounts, they don’t really have good safeguards against malicious users taking over existing accounts.

Damn, I don’t know what the actual site setting options are so i was hoping they’d have something simple out of the box. Either way, Roblox should try to come up with some implementation similar to my suggestion.

I’ve seen porn on the forum before then, they’ve needed it since the DevForum became public

I think hiding all posts is a bit harsh if a single post has been flagged 3 times, but for multiple posts it makes more sense

The wording on the discourse post was a bit odd, but I believe they meant if 3+ players report 3+ seperate posts as spam.
