Roblox Group Forums already allows this, so it’d be nice to have it here as well. Makes communication easier in certain aspects where instead of replying, you can react and adds a new vibrance to Communication Standard overall on DevForum.
+1 for this, alongside allowing shorter responses that don’t show up like a full reply.
Not sure why this is in Forum Help and not Feature Requests, but thanks for the notice. ![]()
because it’s a feature request for the forum?
I dont think thats a good idea, because then too many people would just react and not write real replies anymore. There is a risk that the forum will become even less professional (dont get me wrong, I’m not one of those people who complain that there are too many memes on the forum).
In my opinion, the way things are now is good.
We already have likes.
Personally, I can’t recall a situation where I needed that.
While I respect your opinion of disagreement humbly, I must and have personal obligation to question you on the idea of “professionality” in this context with the DevForum. I don’t see comment reactions being the end all be all of what holds professionality here, but simply more of an expansion on social interaction. I also feel that from a general pointview that the idea of increased accessibility on social interaction is not something to verifiably decrease social performance but only change it. This isn’t to say that that cannot change but without objective logical reason beyond just personal feelings on the matter, there is simply put nothing more to discuss.
I fear that this feature could lead to many people simply reacting to replies with a suitable emoji and no longer taking the time to write a proper reply. This would massively damage the forum because discussions would become much less frequent and developers would hardly exchange their opinions anymore.
Not every comment needs another comment as a reply and in a strictly “professional” setting, there will likely be not much if any of this.
If developers had opinions that couldn’t be expressed in reactions, they would reply. Otherwise, to save time for everyone else, they could just react to the comment.
+1. Also, enabling this feature could prevent shorter posts that are simply reacting to something by saying “I love this!” from flooding the page. Also, less people will try to bypass the 30char limit as there would be no reason to.
