Enabling StreamingEnabled and playtesting freezes Studio

Reproduction Steps

System Info: Macbook Pro Mid-2012, OSX Catalina 10.15.7, 16 GB memory

Repro Steps:

  • Enable StreamingEnabled. Occurs at any settings.
  • Playtest.
  • Walk around a little to load the rest of the world.
  • Studio should freeze.

Does NOT occur with StreamingEnabled false. Playtest runs smoothly when its off.

Expected Behavior

Playtest runs smoothly, preferrably even better than normal with Content Streaming enabled.

Actual Behavior

After loading more of the map, Studio freezes and cannot recover, requiring a force quit.

Hey, just wanted to give you a small update. I wasn’t able to reproduce the full freeze, but I did encounter some shorter (2-3s) hangs while testing on an a 2015 macbook. We have a ticket for this in our bug tracking software and I’ve added all the relevant details to it. I will update this thread when I have something more to share.

Let me know if I can get you any more data to work with from my end! Especially since it looks like it’s an older Macbook problem.

Is this issue still occurring for you? Unfortunately we’ve been unable to reproduce this internally.
