I think it’d be cool to see how your models are being used, being able to see where they are used and how. You can see who takes a model, but with endorsed models people generally dont take the model; just use it from the toolbox.
That, was weird.
I was looking at your model that got endorsed, and the notification for this popped up…
Yeah, I agree with Kyle. Also, how about another statistic “Uses”, these would be for whenever someone uses the model from the studio toolbox.
I’d like this statistic simply because when you’re using ROBLOX on a resume, it’s more impressive (and accurate) to cite uses instead of takes.
I’m not actually sure if ROBLOX tracks this data right now though.
Support! I have a christmas themed model in there and I’d love to see its stats this winter.
Of course this feature doesnt have to be just for ROBLOX endorsed models, it would be cool to see how many people use your model anyways.
Couldn’t the uses thing be abused? EG I take my simple model on an alt and spam it in studio, then edit the model to be something else. Then it looks like my newer model is really useful
Interesting idea. We have lots of data available to game developers on their traffic and so I agree it would be interesting for model makers to likewise be able to see some information on what they make. I’ll discuss with other folks internally to see if there is useful information we can provide, a clean way to present that information, and if we have the bandwidth to implement such a feature.
It could only count as a “use” if they A) are logged in and B) haven’t used the model in X time
that way if you make a game with the model, then add it to another game in 2 weeks, it counts as 2 uses, but it isn’t spammed. And I assume we all stay logged into studio so we can publish our creations and such.
A feature like this wouldn’t be used for publicity etc, it should be a private thing to see how well you’re doing personally like developer stats.
As seen being used to track games, as Urist stated.
I just think it’s nice to know how well you’re achieving, and with models, you know how many people are taking but not how many people are using. Especially with endorsed models, where they are on the front page of the toolbox.
I totally support this, I would love to see statistics on how my models are used. Also, it would be really nice if the library also displayed Endorsed models because I’m also really curious whether more people find models to use in the library or the catalog. Though I have a feeling that more people would take endorsed models if they were visible in the library because you can only use a model from the toolbox but if you want to take that model you have to go looking for it in the library. Additionally it would be cool if endorsed models received a little royalty for each unique person that took it (though I will admit that I’m quite biased about this last point because I personally have a collection of endorsed models).
Very very necro-bump, but this is still an issue and there is a simple way of solving it!
